A market maker is an agent who undertakes to maintain buy and sell offers on a regular and continuous basis at a maximum established spread, facilitating share trading and avoiding artificial price swings caused by lack of liquidity.
The São Paulo Stock Exchange – B3 – has been encouraging the companies to hire market makers aiming to promote negotiations with its shares and increase their liquidity. Direcional decision of participating in this process reinforces its commitment to investors and to the best trading practices.
